After studying architecture at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in Los Angeles, Shinji Takagi joined OMA/AMO, the internationally renowned architecture practice founded by Rem Koolhaas.

From 2012 to 2025, he worked across its Rotterdam and Hong Kong offices. Appointed Associate in 2022, he led a diverse range of projects across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Japan. In 2025, he founded daiagraph in Matsumoto, Japan.
